(OVPP) Ohio Violence Prevention Process

The Ohio Violence Prevention Process (OVPP) is a program that explores the roots and origins of violence, encourages participants to prevent and interrupt violence and promotes cross-genter, cross-cultural alliances that foster safe, supportive communities. It is based on social change model that broadens the definition of violence and examines institutional violence and the nature of violence as a learned behavior. Participants explore the impact of violence in their lives and attempt to break the cycle of violence. It is designed to raise the awareness of participants and encourages them to make a personal commitment to non-violence and to build alliances across general and cultural lines.
